Ben
Benjamin Cartwright lived in Texas and Colorado before moving to China in 2006. While in Colorado, Benjamin was involved in the startup and development of a construction business and an environmental protection and emergency response business. Both are still in successful operation today. While living in China, he learned Mandarin Chinese and was involved in international business development. Ben met his future wife, Ashley, while living in China. They lived there together for a few years before moving back to the States. Ben and Ashley both love being out in nature and have traveled extensively to some of the most remote and beautiful places on the planet. This love for the natural world is what unites and motivates them to care for the earth with integrity and compassion. This passion is one of the driving forces behind the creation of QXCS and the vision that guides the services they are bringing to hyperscale clients.
While living in China, Benjamin was able to gain valuable cultural experience that allowed him to assist businesses with international development and expansion. His international experience has helped him to understand the entire recycling and reuse supply chain and how to bring important efficiencies to his clients. By better understanding the market, clients are in a much stronger position to identify and control the downstream utilization of their retired hardware. This level of control and insight also brings the increased capacity to offset potential environmental harm while simultaneously offering a much higher potential for carbon recapture and credit.
Laura
Laura leverages nearly 20 years of experience in commodities with a proven track record in the ITAD industry. Prior to transitioning to her current role, she served as the Global Commercial Manager for Amazon Web Services' (AWS) Reverse Logistics program. In this leadership role, Laura spearheaded the development and implementation of the program's liquidation, vendor management, recycling/REM recovery and circularity strategies. Her strategic initiatives resulted in a significant year-over-year revenue increase and the establishment of a highly effective landfill avoidance strategy achieving a global diversion rate.
Laura holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management and Finance from Tulane University and a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Oklahoma State University.
Ashley
Ashley Cartwright grew up in Texas with an entrepreneurial father and has fond memories of working in his office answering the phone even as a child. She later spent time in New York before moving to China in 2006. While in China, she learned Mandarin Chinese and gained valuable experience in international business relations, sourcing, and procurement. Ben and Ashley met in China and got married in 2009. After moving back to the United States in 2012, she continued to work as a consultant for international businesses.
Ashley learned about the IT asset disposition and recycling industry when Ben got into it upon their return to the States. Initially she would accompany him to trade shows and business meetings. Soon she also started to see the potential to leverage their cross-cultural experience and relationships to bring value to the industry. The more they learned about the industry, the more motivated they were to find a new way to bring transparency and integrity to a complete asset lifecycle management solution.
The goal of QXCS is to provide a complete circularity solution for used electronic assets. From honest analysis of residual value to the tracking and management of waste streams, QXCS can give clients unparalleled service, with complete data tracking and management. As someone who sees the true value of each client, and also cares about her client’s reputation, she provides a clear vision and strategy for the long-term stability of QXCS.
